I am so honored and it’s my privilege to host a blog tour of this book!

I’m so happy that this book is finally out! I’ve been waiting for this for like forever!

As most of you, peeps, don’t know that I am a very huge fan of J. Daniel’s books! I’ve read most of her books –if not all! –the Alabama Series and Sweet Addiction Series! And now she comes with a whole new series! I’m excited about this book. So when Ms. J announced that there’s a sign up for blogger who were interested to host a tour for it, I immediately jumped and signed up.

Unfortunately, due to limited number of books, I haven’t given the chance to receive an ARC. It would be awesome if I had because then this tour wouldn’t be boring. But all is well because even though I don’t have a review to post for the tour, I will post my reading experience about Ms. J’s books.

First off, the very first book that I’ve read from her is the Sweet Addiction book. It was about Dylan and Reese. While I was reading the book, I didn’t know that an accountant could be hot too. I mean, in the book, Reese is an accountant and he’s really hot. In this book, I’ve experienced a whole new picture of a relationship. Before I’ve read this book, I was so used to the kind of stereotypical couple, and cliché love stories. But when I read this book, it was new to me. Really new. One of the first books I’ve read with detailed sex scene was Fifty Shades and yes, I read that book as my first reads in the mature book world. Pretty hardcore? So when I read Sweet Addiction, I need to adjust to the kind of level of intimacy it had. It was realistic and, sure, hot. I’ve read the two books in the Sweet Addiction Series, Sweet Addiction and Sweet Possession, in a day and a half. Yes, it was that good.

Second, the first book of the Alabama Series. Because I couldn’t get enough of the feels I felt while reading the Sweet Addiction series, I asked my best buddy Google about the other works of Ms. J and I found that series. And then whatever feels I felt during the Sweet Addiction series upgraded in this series. Seriously, the kind of men Ms. J put in her book is the kind of men I surely want someday. I’m not even ashamed of it! Out of all the Bama Boys, the one I really really love and is one of the lists of my dream guy is Reed. Fucking Reed! It’s my most favorite book in the Alabama Series. Though Ben and Luke’s story were just as good, Reed is still my bias. Especially that Reed’s heroine, Beth, is a booknerd. Yeah, that’s one of the reasons why I love Reed’s story.

Third and my latest read in all of her works so far (before the release of Four Letter Word and What I Need) is the third book of the Sweet Addiction series, Sweet Obsession. I fell in love with Mason’s cute ‘Yeah’s! Gosh! With the body and character he has plus his accent! Ugh! I might faint if I ever see someone like Mason in real life. Brook is pretty damn lucky she found him first. Haha! This one is a little less something than the rest of Ms. J’s books. I mean, the feels and other things are on par with the rest of the book but it has less mature scenes than the others. And it was something new. It proved that Ms. J is not all about the sex scenes of her book but the characters and the relationship and the pace and the message! Some authors are just focused on the mature content so they could pick more audience but Ms. J is not one of those authors.

What I like about Ms. J’s works is her magic towards her words. She made it feel like the mature scenes in the book are normal and is really part of the story but at the same time pretty intense. I’ve read other books with the same genre as these books but I would always compare this and that and I would always end up liking Ms. J’s works more and idolizing her more.

I think I have posted a small review in my Instagram way too long ago about all of Ms. J’s books. And I’m saying what I said in that small review, Ms. J is an amazing author! One of the best author in her genre! And she’s friendly too. She’s not snob! She noticed some of my posts about her books and even comment on one of it! It’s a pretty big deal to me when an author interacts with me. Me! A mere reader and fan of their book and they’re talking to me! I’ve never met any authors in my entire life so talking to them even in social media is a total happiness on my part. Fangirl dream!

So that’s pretty much my review on J. Daniel’s whole books that I’ve read so far. And I will surely do everything to get my hands a copy of Four Letter Word. I’m sure of it!

Don’t forget to get your own copy of the book! I’m tellin’ ya! You won’t regret it!

And because this is blog tour post, here’s another excerpt reveal for y’all! Also, I want to apologize because it seems that I posted a little late. As you, peeps, know it was midterms week last week and a couple days this week. I just got my last exam done earlier today so I wasn’t able to post this earlier or yesterday. Because of that, the giveaway that’s supposed to be included in this post wouldn’t be included anymore because it’s over. I’m so sorry. Still, hope you read the excerpt of the book.

Enjoy!

Excerpt

The sun burned across a cloudless sky. I felt the intensity of it bake into the skin of my bare shoulders.

Waves crashed against the shore, some carrying surfers with them in the distance. A few feet ahead of me, a small child kicked a sand castle and giggled with his father.

I sat down on a step and slipped my sandals off.

The sand was warm underneath my feet as I dug my toes into it, staring out at the world in front of me. I rubbed a shell between my fingers as I watched a couple walk hand-in-hand toward the pier.

They looked happy. I tried to remember the last time Marcus held my hand, or even reached for it.

My chest burned when I couldn’t conjure up an image in my mind.

I looked down at the faint line marking my left ring finger. The token I was left with now that I no longer wore my ring. It was subtle, thanks to my naturally pale skin, but to me it stood out like embers glowing in the dark.

I hated it. I didn’t need a reminder of how I’d failed as a wife. Or how Marcus stopped seeing me as one.

Maybe I could coat my entire hand in sunblock except for that thin strip. Burn the memory away.

The idea seemed promising enough to consider.

From my back pocket, my cell beeped with an incoming message.

I wiped the tear from my cheek as I stood and palmed my phone, expecting to see Tori’s name lit up on my screen.

I froze on the step, my free hand on the railing as I stared curiously at the message and the number it was sent from.

Wild Girl. Eaten any innocent men alive today yet?

My lip twitched, the hint of a smile.

I sat back down, reading the message a second time as I remembered my conversation with this stranger yesterday.

My accidental verbal beat-down.

Jesus. I really let him have it.

I couldn’t think of the last time I was that embarrassed.

I told the guy to remove a dildo from his mouth, for Christ sakes.

All in all, whoever this was seemed to be a good sport about it. He could’ve laid into me and cussed me out. Made me feel even more like a complete shit for dialing the wrong number and not confirming the identity of my intended victim before I tore into him like he owed me money.

He was more than decent about the whole thing. Easily forgiving.

And now he was messaging me out of nowhere and striking up conversation.

Wild.

He wanted to talk to me.

Huh.

I tapped my thumb on the edge of the phone case, then hovered over the letters of my keypad as I stared at the message.

Did I even want to talk to this guy anymore? Wasn’t this weird? We didn’t know each other. Our encounter was a mistake. A one-time mishap, never to be repeated.

Right?
