BLURB:
Neve Knightly lives in an ordinary world. Where déjà vu is nothing more than a mind-trick. Where premonitions are dismissed as mere coincidence. Where no one thinks twice about the glitches in their reality. Neve Knightly is living a lie. But when her nightmare of a tragedy comes true the very next day, she can no longer seek solace in self-deception. The glossy enamel has been shattered, and she has caught a glimpse of what slithers just beneath the surface. She now has the opportunity to decipher the enigma that’s been haunting her since childhood. But her quest soon becomes deeply entangled with the last two people she could have ever imagined: the love of her life, Dylan, who mysteriously vanished three years ago, and his estranged best friend, Romer, who seems to be guarding a secret of his own. Romance, rancor, and redemption plummet as priorities, as their lives become riddled with peculiar happenings lying just outside the realm of science. And in search for salvation, they emerge at the brink of unveiling the best-kept secret in human history.
BOOK REVIEW (SPOILER FREE)
I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review. Thanks to Ms. Nelou for giving me one!
One word to describe this book: WOW!
This book is amazing! It practically blew my mind!
When I read the chapter zero, or maybe it was the prologue, the first thoughts I have with this book is it has a bad ass heroine. And yes it has! Neve is bad ass but she still doesn’t know it yet.
The story is quite amazing. At first, I didn’t quite understand it because I honestly didn’t read the synopsis of the book as I was so excited to actually read the book. And that was my mistake. Like I said, the story is amazing. At first you will think that this is a fantasy kind with powers and other things but if you read further it actually have a scientific explanation! And that’s what blew my mind!
Just imagine having the knowledge that you have another you in another dimension. Strange and somehow creepy right? But it’s actually amazing! I never, and I mean never, read any book with this kind of story that is totally mind blowing. I’m not exaggerating or over reacting. The story is really amazing. I’ve read a lot of books before this one, and I meant a lot, with different genres and twists but never have I encountered something like this. It has the right amount of mystery, darkness and questions. But it also has the right amount of thrill.
Though it says something about romance in the blurb, I didn’t felt the romance while I’m reading it. I didn’t even know how much Neve and Dylan love each other. They kiss yes but I didn’t feel their love for each other. But when Neve and Romer kissed, well, it felt like they were more attracted to each other than Neve and Dylan was. Dylan is a good character though I love Romer more. Romer to me is somehow rugged and a bad boy. Not to mention he’s funny as hell. Everytime I crack up a huge laugh on this book, it’s because of Romer. I love the guy! At first I like Dylan because of his red hair and his pretty-boy-but-with-edge aura but when Romer appears in the mix, I didn’t have any second thoughts on jumping.
And I say the book is mind blowing because you could actually learn from the story. And when you read the book, you’ll start to question other things. Like, is it really possible to have a glimpse of the other world in the eyes of your proxy? Do you really have proxy?
It’s amazing. If this wasn’t an ARC, I would probably go all out and say all my thoughts to all my bookish friends. But instead, I’ll let you wonder why this book is amazing.
Kudos Ms. Nelou Keramati! Job well done with your first book! I couldn’t wait for the second one! I’m already dying to read the second one because I can’t get enough of the first! I hope I could read the second book sooner but I’ll wait. More power to you!
Don’t forget! This book will be out on August 31st this year. So keep a look out on this and make sure to read it because it’s amazing!
